
FIRE SYSTEMS TECHS

environment of the Antarctic? Raytheon Polar Services
is the primary contractor for the National
Science Foundation’s (NSF) U.S. Antarctic Program. We
are currently seeking Fire Systems Technicians of
various levels for contract positions, to deploy to
Antarctica, for the austral winter season from
February-November 2006.
Fire Systems Technician Foreman
At least five years of experience
in rough wiring, wiring of devices and panels, and
layout and installation of alarm devices and other
systems components.
At
least two years of experience in a foreman or
supervisory position.
Experience in repair and maintenance of fire alarm
systems is required.
Ability
to read design drawings and wiring diagrams is required.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
State/local certification or NICET
II or higher Fire Alarms certification is mandatory.
Journeyman Electrician license
highly desirable.
Factory training on the specified
systems, or verified field training on a variety of
alarm systems under the direction of a licensed or
certified installer is required.
Fire
Systems Technician
Minimum 3 years experience in the
following areas:

Installing and repairing fire
alarm equipment.

Providing maintenance on fire
systems equipment.

Diagnosing and repairing
failures in system components.

Hands-on fire
system/electrical tasks on maintenance and
construction projects.

Coordinating testing,
maintenance, and repair activities.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
State/local certification or NICET
II certification is mandatory.
Factory training on a variety of
alarm systems is required.
Contract compensation includes
reimbursement of expenses to physically qualify, weekly
salary, travel to and from the ice, room & board, and
eligibility for a performance based bonus upon
successful completion of the contract. Check out our

All applicants must be able to provide proof of U.S.
citizenship or permanent residency once employment is
offered. Must also pass strict physical, dental, and
psychological (for winter-over positions) examinations
in order to qualify for deployment. Offers of
employment are also contingent upon ability to pass a
pre-employment drug screen and background check.
